Tinubu’s Stronghold ‘Supports’ Saraki For The 2019 PDP Presidential Ticket, Ahead Of The 2019 General Elections
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Monday, got the nod of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegates in Lagos State, to emerge as the party’s Presidential candidate for the 2019 elections.
Recall, that Lagos State is widely known politically, as the stronghold of the Jagaban, Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at the very successful event, Saraki, who was well received at the party’s Lagos State Secretariat, along Adekunle Fajuyi, in Ikeja, the Lagos State capital, declared that he has the political sagacity to truly restructure the country, and devolve more powers to the Federating units.
Saraki who was accompanied on the visit by Senator Dino Melaye; former Kogi Governor, Captain Idris Wada; former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje; among others, also vowed that come next year, the PDP would produce a Governor in Lagos State.
He further implored them to see his aspiration as that of Lagos State, as he is also a Lagosian, by virtue of having his Primary and Secondary School education in Lagos; and more importantly, because his wife and mother-in-law are Lagosians.
Saraki insisted that he is the best among the Aspirants, who has the vision and the capacity to restructure Nigeria, and address the pressing leadership challenges confronting the country.
